A number of Turkish M60T tanks have been modernised. The most notable new feature is the Pulat Active Protection system, which is a hard-kill APS which can intercept incoming projectiles. Other notable changes are improved optics, laser warning receivers and telescopic periscopes. The Turkish Army's Leopard 2A4s are also in the process of being upgraded. Their upgrade package will include reactive armour. Both are being upgraded due to the effectiveness of ATGMs in the Syrian conflict. A combination of APS and reactive armour greatly increases the chances of survival when facing ATGMs.
